Not just a normal Mars, but insane mars with a large self regulation network. Those Martians must be really mad because they have 8 separate srnw circles where each circle overflows to the next one in a cycle. That way they reached pretty amazing network self-balancing and all trains could be regulated on their own. All those mad trains were counting up to over 2000 trains, including logic and dummy trains. |199|File:PSG199.png|The primary pickup station that got the most care, in the end working quite nicely. :) }}
This was consisting of a few ideas, first of all the oneway-ness of the rings made all hubs of a fairly simple structure while forcing very interesting and special compositions and designs. Another idea was to have an almost random network that spreads trains all over the ML. Some routes were quite funny since the rings didn't provide the shortest possible paths, resulting in many detours. This wasn't really much of a problem, but some junctions got too busy because they kind of created a join before split. This was easily solved by a few bypasses. After expanding almost all of the network, fixing multiple issues and making the network run somewhat smoothly, we reached a total amount of 1337 trains, which is quite nice for TL5. |198|File:PSG198.png|Highest traffic was at BBH 5-7. Right on the very first sight, it is an arctic game with japanese landscape and UKRS. When we look deeper, we can see that all of the towns are supplied with goods, food and gold and also being taken care of their mail. This led to three key points. We had a small but nice mail service, all of our goods,food and gold trains had to go to all towns, spreading them around the map nicely. Therefore towns needed to be able to go everywhere, which isn't quite standard on sidelines. The network was of a very simple shape - only two BBHs with a central backbone between them. We used refitting orders to stress the central backbone as low as possible, because the trains that loaded less than 30% paper didn't even get to the central backbone. As for other primaries, we had two main stations divided by kind of wagons used - Liquids Drop, and Solid Things Drop, which was also nice to look at. After expanding two mainlines to 3 lines, we ended up at 620 trains and a couple of RVs. |197|File:PSG197.png|It was quite hard to tell how many trains are passing the hub at the moment, since most of them were in TUNNELS! :)}}
Since the plan was based a lot on symmetry, goods from sawmill ended up on a "normal" ML instead of the highway, which not only violated the "highway" goal, but mainly resulted in increased traffic in the north western part of the map. On the other hand, absence of oil wells (oil wells die in temperate) made the opposite part of map almost empty in terms of traffic. Since the central 4way hub got barely any traffic, we did not need to expand it, which could have been almost impossible (as in case of most 4way hubs). After optimalizing our network and eliminating all jams, the game ended with 1050 trains a handful of RVs. |196|File:PSG196.png|Sawmill - our strongest secondary, and the source of the only 3-line ML.}}
The roundabout, possibly even 4way hub design has proven to be very bad, because there is just not much space for a lot of lines, mergers especially. This game was a lot of fun none the less, since we had to do some nice amount of expanding, which got quite crammed especially in the roundabout area. This game ended quite quickly (once we capped at 6th line of the roundabout, not able to expand more) with 750 trains. |195|File:PSG195.png|The Roundabout aka The Problem}}
We managed that with two separate networks; inner and outer ring - inner ring feeding the outer fellow, making outer ml fairly simple. On the other hand inner ring became quite intense. The network plan was consisting of two 2way rings connected with oneway lines. Since wood got strong as in any other arctic game with sufficient amount of snow, our wood/coal drop was the place of most issues because we transported also coal to it. This time not just a pax game, but a pax game with UKRS! (which we have not used for pax for quite a long time, if ever) Because the map featured many cities and making all combinations of connections is quite exhausting, we made just a central transfer station, so all trains had simple ordering system. The main point of the game was to balance the eastern and western halves of map, which we followed quite successfully. One of the largest problems was the central station - version 1 suffered from too high station spread requirements. Therefore it had to be completely demolished and redone. The game ended with about 1500 trains all over the map. |192|File:PSG192.png| Central transfer, definitely the heart of the game. All ML trains congregated here.}}
The plan was to keep to the desert as much as possible and collect resources from the edge of the rainforest to avoid encounters and ambushes. Most of the network was designed with sufficient capacity, but the war factory turned out to have much more traffic than the refinery, requiring an expansion from two lanes to 4 in each direction. |191|File:PSG191.png| Trains being routed with military precision. We decided on transfer stations at each SLH, from where road vehicles could transport the supplies to the needy primaries. The actual amount of supplies did not matter, just once each 1 or 1.5 month _some_ supplies does the trick. Unfortunately, the graphic artists have as yet not accomplished graphics for all the new industries and stations, so the eyecandy is somewhat lagging and haphazard. But all in all a wonderful addition to OTTD. Three beers for the creators! Another feature of this game was a proliferation of overflows and, more abjectionable, reverse tracks. |188|File:PSG188.png| It takes some skill to build a good hub, but it takes some real effort to build one in difficult mountains, like this one at the end of Milky Valley}}
This game was entirely SRNW with a goal set on producing 75K food at the drop. Three factories were needed and we got around 60K. Some experimenting has been done to make more efficient, larger or just plain cooler looking stations. |149|Image:PSG149.png| Some crazy contraption of Combuster to regulate the insertion of new trains into the ring}}
A chaos type game with a mix between cargo and PAX. In the end ran over 700 trains on a maze of track. Since it was chaos most of the ghetto hubs that got build had to be rebuild numerous times to handle the higher traffic from later in the game.|148|Image:PSG148.PNG| One of the major PAX terminals in the game.}}
The plan was a nice big X covering the map with a ring in the middle, and as an extra a maglev connection for passengers, mail and goods. The maglev tracks never reached their full capacity and were barely used. The rest of the system was too limited and had to be extended at some sidelines and on some places of the ML.|147|Image:PSG147.png| What used to be a simple and clean SLH turned into a monster hub when all the livestock, grain and steel trains had to pass it.}}

The game featured an organic ML layout designed to follow the mountain ranges and coasts that made up this map. This plan featured an LLL_RRR central loop to which all main stations were connected. This resulted in some nice and big BBHs. After the primary industries began to produce some seious output traffic levels increased fast and and some places the mainline had to be extended to twice its original width. |146|Image:PSG146.png| Showing BBH04 and BBH05, these were seperated when the game started but were later on optimized to remove join-before-splits and cope with the huge amounts of wood and paper}}

This game featured a central hub station with an LL_RR leg to either side, trains picked up at both ends of the legs. After delivering their cargo trains were heading for the nearest depot to be refitted. This way train amount required was less then usual and trains mostly didn't travel empty.|141|Image:PSG141.png| An oil pickup station initally used for the MM.}}

This game stated with 4 towns with 0 population. We had to generate city plans that included ICE lines and SBanh lines. Mark's plan won which meant we had to and a clockwise outer ring with 4 one way central main lines. This means that each city had 4 ICE transfer station. We had some very nice SBahn idea appear in this game and 2 very large cities, Marks city had 800,000 population peaking at arround 900,000 and Thijis had over 1,000,000 population in the end. The game end with over 1400 trains.
2 large rivers devided this map, the lead into the Nord and Oest Sea's, most plans seemed to focus arround deviding the map into 2 distinc areas. the final game we had to transport PAX and Cargo arround the map.
A stretched map with a full pax network. Around 230 ICE trains connect the 4 main terminals on the 4 main islands. The terminals are fed by local S-Bahn, trams and buses. From north to south straight through everything is the TL64 Beast maglev, making an almost impossible 15 million a year.
An ambitious plan by RMJ, where all cargo is delivered to a single station in the middle of the map. The raws were picked up from two large primary wings. In the end the network held 800 trains in good flow.
|137|Image:PSG137.PNG| The huge main drop station.}}
A large map generated using the original generator and no newgrfs were used in this game to get the "oldskool" feeling. At about 1000 trains the outer ring of the network started to slow down and a 5th lane was added which kept the network running smoothly even with more than 1200 trains.
Another ECS map, again with all vectors loaded. ECS combined with a chaos theory plan turned out surprisingly clean and all trains were moving smoothly in the end.

{{Archive_PublicServer|Public Server Game 133|1.03.09-14.03.09| narc, Tuz, Bennythen00b | Cargo Concept | 7 | 256x1024 Arctic | r15654 #openttdcoop-GRF-Pack 7.3|
We picked a very ambitious plan for this map -- two parallel 4x4 mainlines with SML, with the drop/pickup stations at the loose ends of the mainlines. However, building the four BBHs took a very long time, and the plan also changed several times to remove some of the trickier requirements, such as "no mainline above the snowline", which was producing some very uneven mainlines that couldn't be properly connected with SLHs. In the end, some major rebuilds were required for the north-western stations to cope with the load. This game also tested the feasibility of using GRFs from BaNaNaS, which turned out not to prevent anyone from joining (though often they needed help finding them).
The map was divided into 15 provinces, which players then assigned themselves to. A mainline was also built to shuttle the passengers around the provinces. Sadly, the map proved too big (so people didn't have much chance to cooperate in building their provinces), and a bug with the Japan Train Set made the game unplayable for most.
In the end it ended up with more that 1500 trains and a 6 line CML, it has 4BBH's and intermediate SLHs at regual pacing. The game ended at about 85% completions, as we had a few minor jams left and not all industies were connected. |115|Image:PSG115.png|3 Way BBH 4 lanes west to north lanes lanes join from east }}
The planing stage took to long, and a plan the would have been suited for a map of 1024^2 rather than this small map emerged to win. the plan had a 5 way central hub, this was the only BBH. With train that had a max speed of 50MPH / 80Km/h and only 100 train the network didnt have any traffic problems. |114|Image:PSG114.png| 5 way BBH 01}}
The result was finally a quite efficient network with many bridges which supported more than 900 trains. |113|Image:PSG113.png| bottleneck BBH 02}}
The goal of the plan was to grow the city to a population of 500,000. The coastal location of the city required heavy terraforming to achieve the goal. |112|Image:psg112.png| BBH 05 was one the most congested part of the network until it was rebuilt}}
